bands, bands, bands!

...So I played in a band here in Austin for about 3 weeks and needless to say it was a good time and I learned a few things as usual. I'd have to say the best part about living in Austin as a musician is that if one band doesn't work out there are still a few thousand more to start or join, despite if it's just a "hobby" or if you're super serious.

I haven't posted anything in awhile here for several reasons, mainly due to laziness I guess.I haven't produced a Vinyl Hour episode in a long, long time either so that's something I'm thinking about doing soon as well.

Going to start playing with a new band I'm forming with a couple of other guys that already seems like the best situation band-wise I've had in a long long time. Tomorrow I will begin that journey...

I saw Scott Lucas' [Local H front-man] new band, "Scott Lucas and the Married Men" this past Monday night here @ the Mohawk and it was real cool. If you're a fan of Local H it was not like that at all, but still straight -up rock n roll. If you read about how this new band of his came about it's pretty interesting and almost heartwarming. Strange to see Scott playing with more than 2 other people, let alone 6!! It was also weird to see him in a suit and tie and rocking, but like I already mentioned, it was good, real good.

Peace out for now, and I just read on the NY Times that they finally stopped the effin oil gusher in the gulf!!!!
